Kigali, May 17, 2025 — A significant step toward fostering gender equality and inclusive education was taken during the Campaign and Dialogue Forum held at Don Bosco TVET Schools in Kigali on Saturday, under the theme “Stand for Inclusive Education: Promoting Gender Equity, Equality, and Empowerment in Don Bosco TVET Schools.” The event brought together educators, students, partners, and community leaders to reflect on ongoing efforts, share successes, and address challenges in ensuring equal opportunities for both boys and girls across Don Bosco’s technical and vocational education institutions.
A powerful testimony was shared by Ms. Uzamureba Clementine, the Gender Officer at Don Bosco Gatenga TVET School. She narrated the inspiring story of girls who received scholarships to study Solar Energy and Electricity and who plan to return to teach their peers. Although the girls were not physically present at the forum, their story motivated attendees and reinforced the importance of opening doors for girls in all fields of study.
Additionally, Ingabire Francoise, the Gender Officer in Rwamagana District, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of changing mindsets. She urged everyone to raise awareness, close the gaps, and actively promote gender equality, noting, “What we are advocating for is also embedded in the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda.”
The forum also highlighted ongoing collaborations with Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), the police, and legal professionals, who work closely with families in conflict. “We have programs in place and collaborate with various agencies to engage with families in conflict,” the social affairs in Gatenga Sector explained. “Our efforts help encourage parents to change and become more mindful of their responsibility to raise children properly.” He added
Participants expressed strong confidence in the strength and dedication of the institutions involved.

“In the field of schools, we are certain that we have the strength, the will, and the support of strong partnerships. We are optimistic that we will achieve the desired progress,” Mr Dominique Uwarugira, the Project Officer affirmed.
Attendees left the forum with renewed dedication to promoting gender equity, opening more opportunities for girls, and fostering an inclusive educational environment where everyone can succeed. This dialogue marks a collective stride toward transforming perceptions, empowering youth to challenge stereotypes, and ensuring a brighter, more equitable future for all.
